I don’t keep a blog like a journal, I have a scratched up notebook for that and that only gets written in once a week or so. So to recap this year I consulted my highly used, old fashioned weekly planner / checklist to reflect on our big year.
1 big move across the ocean [We’ve talked about this a lot already. Awesome job for James, sudden move, big adjustment for mom, tons of fun for kids, love living near James’ parents]
136 trips to the beach [That is, for those who are tabulating, over three times a week since we were only here for ten months of the year. That rate was fueled by are almost daily visits when we first moved here and had no toys, no friends and no life]
3 Birthdays for the munchkins [Louis turned 4 with a Diego party in September, Elsie with a Toy Story party in June and Pearl with her 1 year old banana party in December]
2 trips to Alaska [We got to go home in September for James to participate in his first big moose hunt and then again in December for my sister Rachel’s beautiful wedding and then Christmas with all the extended family]
11 months of fighting with severe plantar fasciitis [Pleased to report that with a good podiatrist in December I’m finally getting some real progress and relief. Just don’t be surprised to see me sporting a gigantic walking cast on occasion]
5 business trips between Mom and Dad [We went from being a once a year travel for me to several times a year between the two of us. We don’t like being separated, but it helps beat island fever!]
1 little girl potty trained [Yeah Elsie!]
2 cute new nephews [Will I Am and Clyde. Will was born while we were in Alaska and we got to see Clyde at Christmastime]
And countless moments of chaos, crazy and fun in our new home.
